General information

The work of the Department of Anatomy, Drawing and Geometry of Art and many of the subjects taught there have been an integral part of undergraduate art education since the institution was founded in 1871. Its mission is to provide a visual understanding and description of the phenomena of the world around us, and to master the elementary process of creating IMAGES (analogue, digital, still, moving, etc.).
Artistic Anatomy - studies man as a biological being, from the passive skeletal system to the observation of the skeletal muscles that activate it. Spatial Representation explores the empirical mapping of the space around us, and Art Geometry shows the interrelationship between theory and practice through speculative theories of space. In freehand drawing, we are able to practice the tradition of realistic representation of the human figure, along with creative drawing self/expression. And the Digital Object Forms (3D) units offer the opportunity to extend analogue drawing thinking and practice with the tools of digital space.

In our pedagogical practice, we strive to preserve classical, traditional ways of and representing, while constantly rethinking them, complementing them with contemporary theoretical and practical approaches.
