The aim of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts (HUFA) is to provide art education at the highest level. Since its foundation in 1871, it has been cultivating Hungary's living artistic traditions and constantly reflecting contemporary artistic trends. The Diplomas awarded by the Painter, Graphic Arts, Intermedia, Fine Art Theory, Scenic Design, Restoration, Sculptor, Visual Arts and Teacher Training Departments as well as the Doctoral School guarantee excellent theoretical and practical knowledge. The HUFA exhibition spaces (headed by the Barcsay Hall), library and collection are open to visitors all year round. The Epreskert studio houses, the Feszty House, the Intermedia building, the Labor Gallery in the city centre and the Tihany Art Camp are also an integral part of the university.
