Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship

How to apply

Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship

The Government of Hungary initiated the Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship Program to aid individuals residing outside Europe within the Hungarian diaspora, who aspire to pursue their education at a Hungarian tertiary institution, fostering stronger connections with Hungary on personal, professional and cultural levels.

The aim of the programme is to assist scholarship holders in their career development through excellent Hungarian higher education. Concurrently, it seeks to enhance their proficiency in the Hungarian language and strengthen their sense of Hungarian identity. Upon completing their studies, the scholars return to their home countries equipped with competitive skills and knowledge, empowering them to contribute to their communities, uphold Hungarian values and foster stronger ties between the diaspora and Hungary.

The program is open to individuals belonging to the Hungarian diaspora residing in any country outside the European Union, the Republic of Serbia or the Zakarpattia Oblast of Ukraine.
