General information

The mission of Intermedia is to extend the training of artists to art forms and techniques that first appeared in the visual arts in the 20th century (photographic, kinetic and electronic arts, multimedia, installation, environment and action art, new communication techniques).
The aim of the course is to enable the student, recognising the specificities of their own creative personality, to become an active, creative presence in the cultural spheres of the information society. Acquire a shared understanding of the different techniques, means, methods and functions of artistic expression, including the practical application of one or more traditional artistic techniques in an artistically appreciative way. Be familiar with and be able to use new technical media (photography, film, video, computer) in a visual arts context, not only as a user but also as a creator. Knowledge of the history of universal and Hungarian culture, in particular an understanding of the essence and roots of the issues arising from the consequences of the artistic and scientific changes of the last century, is a fundamental requirement.

The programme of Intermedia consists of professional theoretical, practical and general theoretical parts, as well as specific updates of these every academic year. This means that, in addition to a general description of each subject, the programme for the course in a given semester is given period by period. The current degree is a five-year diploma in media studies.
