General information

Our Graphic Design students are trained through practice-oriented exercises, proceeding through the design process from the first sketches to the final designs in individual consultations, gradually developing their ability to solve problems independently. Practical training in the basic graphic design disciplines of typography, sign, identity, packaging, publication and poster design, illustration, interactive graphic design, and the technical skills essential for design work: traditional drawing, graphic design and typography techniques, photography, printing, digital graphics, publication editing, photo and interactive graphics techniques, three-dimensional modelling. The first four semesters provide the basic professional skills on which to build the complex design tasks of the next four semesters, which require a greater degree of autonomy. The final year is devoted to the preparation of an independent diploma work, in collaboration with the supervisor, to demonstrate the skills acquired during their studies. The five-year professional training is supported by courses in art theory and history, which provide the multi-faceted education necessary for independent creative work. Our graduates are highly capable of meeting complex visual communication design challenges independently and of putting their designs into practice, whether as entrepreneurs or employees, leading a team. Their qualifications and skills make them suitable candidates for a doctorate of fine arts (DLA).
