MKE delegation in Indonesia: Successful networking and student recruitment
Between 26 October and 3 November 2024, a three-member delegation of MKE, Dr. István Erős, Rector, Dr. Gergely Dóczi, Chancellor, and Réka Tóth-Dolenszky, Head of the International Mobility Office, travelled to Indonesia. The purpose of the trip was to deepen the professional relationship with MKE's partner institution, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta, and to participate in the EHEF (European Higher Education Fair) student recruitment fair organised by the Tempus Public Foundation. At the partner university, they met with Dr Irwandi, the new Rector of the institution, to discuss current and future cooperation opportunities, to learn about colleagues and work at the Faculty of Recorded Media and to discuss the ongoing Erasmus KA171 project and its continuation with the Faculty of Fine Arts. During the nearly one-week programme in Yogyakarta, the MKE delegation also visited the studios of two world-renowned Indonesian artists, Nasirun and Heri Dono. Sculptor Heri Dono will be teaching courses at the School of Fine Arts as a guest lecturer in the spring semester with the support of the Ludwig Foundation. MKE's stand was also very well attended at the EHEF's one-day in Yogyakarta and two-day in Jakarta, where it was the only European art university present at the Fair. Interested parents and prospective students queued up to get detailed information about the English language art courses available at MKE, subject to sufficient numbers of applicants.
The programme was a great success in terms of both networking and promotion, for which special thanks go to the host university and the Tempus Public Foundation.
