A three-member delegation from our university, led by Dr. István Erős, visited the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts (GAFA) in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China.

There has been ongoing professional collaboration between the faculty members of HUFA and GAFA for several years, which we now aim to elevate to an institutional level. The goal of this cooperation is to facilitate student, faculty, and staff mobility, as well as to organize joint exhibitions and workshops between the two institutions.

As part of this effort, we are planning to submit a joint Erasmus+ KA171 application in February 2026, which would further strengthen international relations and mobility opportunities between the universities.

During the visit, the delegation viewed the diploma exhibitions of the graduating students from the School of Transmedia, and also had the opportunity to explore final projects from other departments. Particularly impressive were GAFA’s state-of-the-art exhibition spaces and the high-quality technical infrastructure, which provide excellent conditions for both education and artistic creation.

GAFA currently operates on two well-equipped campuses and plans to open a new, modern campus within the next three years.

The next milestone in our partnership will be the visit of a GAFA delegation to Budapest, scheduled for October 2025.
