Between March 18–28, 2025, an exhibition showcasing student works created with the collaboration of Intertechnika Kft. will be held in the Parthenon Frieze Hall, the Calvary, and the garden of Epreskert.
The company’s leaders, Béla Alasztics and his son, Péter, have played a significant role in making these high-quality artworks possible through their commitment to fine arts and dedicated support.
This representative exhibition presents student works that were realized partly or entirely with the sponsorship of the laser cutting company—utilizing materials provided by them, employing their technological processes, collaborating with them, or receiving assistance in any form.
The sculptures prominently feature steel, in line with the company’s profile, as well as laser cutting, bending, and surface treatments related to metalworking. Most of the works were created using welding techniques applied by the students, making the technological aspects of steel sculpture dominant. However, the artworks are not limited to this field: in two site-specific installations, for example, steel elements became an integral part of the works, or the artists used metal frames as stencils during the creative process.
As part of the sculpture program, factory visits have been organized since 2018 by Péter Menasági, lecturer at the Sculpture Department, alongside the enthusiastic hosts of the company. These visits allow interested students to get hands-on experience with modern industrial processing technologies, observe various procedures, and see cutting-edge machinery in action. By understanding the possibilities offered by innovative technology, students can freely design their own works or integrate the acquired knowledge into their artistic thinking.
This long-standing partnership has resulted in remarkable works, which are comprehensively presented in this exhibition. In addition to current students, graduates from recent years also participate—with works created either since finishing university or specifically for this exhibition. This demonstrates that such a defining experience and encounter can lead to long-term professional connections, further supporting their artistic careers.
