Exhibition of works by students of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts opened in Timișoara

This year, Timișoara is also one of the European Capitals of Culture. An exhibition of works by MKE students will be on display in the gallery of the Faculty of Art and Design of the Universitatea de Vest (UVT) from 3 November to 30 November 2023.

In our exhibition Essentials / Esențial, we present works by students from some departments of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, mostly recent graduates, and to a lesser extent DLA and MA students still active.

The works on display at the exhibition space of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design of the Universitatea de Vest in Timișoara, Galeria Mansarda, represent a cross-section of the education at our institution, with works from the departments of Painting, Print making, Graphic design, Sculpture, Scenic Design and Visual Arts.

The works produced at the end of the studies were typically large-scale, based on carefully prepared concepts that focused on technical knowledge and artistic invention, under the careful but meticulous guidance of the masters, allowing the creative imagination to flourish. The results reveal the diversity of media and approaches that characterise the teachers and students.

A large part of the material on show in Timișoara, as part of the European Capital of Culture programme, was also included in the prestigious Best of Diploma, one of the most prestigious exhibitions of Hungarian higher education in the arts, where the best of the graduates' work is selected each year.

The exhibitors are Dominik Bárdi, Márta Czene, Laura Czuczor, Zoltán Domokos, Dominika Drótos, Hanna Erős, Barnabás Friedrich, Bíborka Gacsályi, Rita Horváth, Olívia Kakas, Levente Korossy-Khayll, Aliz, Zsuzsanna Kovács, Réka Laczkó, Patrik Lőwenberger, Bálint Mihályi, Rebeka Mikus, Renáta Oroszi, Petra Soltész, Gergely Suplicz, Anna Eszter Tóth, Krisztián Kálmán Tőrincsi, Borbála Zatykó.

At the opening ceremony, Dr. Cătălina Armanca Ancuţa, Deputy Rector of UVT, Dr. Csaba Orosz, Vice-Rector for Education of HUFA and Prof. Dr. Camil Mihaescu, Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design, also gave a speech in appreciation of the cooperation between the two universities and the resulting exhibition.
