The artists participating in the exhibition On a Fresh Track are all former or current graphic design students of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. They decided to present their works together because, in recent years, each of them has been engaged in experiments related to the renewal of traditional graphic techniques. In fact, they are studying the unique qualities that can only be achieved with analog tools in the post-digital age. One shared experience of all the participants is that in Europe, there are hardly any art academies or colleges where traditional techniques can still be learned, and the experiences gained during the mastery of these techniques play an essential role in shaping individual creative attitudes.
The works featured in the exhibition are the result of extensive experimentation, where the starting point in each case was the unique physical and chemical properties of the chosen materials. However, behind their decisions, there is a well-thought-out concept.
