The Hungarian University of Fine Arts and National Taiwan University of Arts have Signed an MOU to Promote International Art Exchange

Prof. Dr István Erős, the Rector of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts (HUFA), paid a visit to the National Taiwan University of Arts (NTUA). The purpose of his visit was to formalize the partnership between the institutions by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Prof. Dr István Erős was warmly received by key representatives

from NTUA, including President, Prof. Dr Shih-Kai Chung, Vice President, Prof. Dr Chia-Cheng Chen, Dean of International Affairs, Prof. Dr Yu-Ling Chao, Head of the Department of Sculpture, Prof. Dr Yun-Hsin Lai, Professor of the Department of Sculpture and the Dean of the Fine Arts College, Prof. Po-Chun Liu, and Director of International Cooperation of OIA, Assis. Prof. Dr Ya-Ting Fan. The Rector of the HUFA was invited by the Ju Ming Museum and its Director, who is also the Dean of the National Taiwan University of Art and Design, to visit Taiwan from 18 to 22 December 2023 to give a lecture on Contemporary Art in the Context of a Natural and Rural Scene at NTUA.

NTUA is the most prestigious art university in the country, with whom the Rector of HUFA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding. During the signing ceremony, both parties expressed their shared commitment to promoting collaborative initiatives in the field of arts, and officially signed the cooperation agreement, solidifying the sisterhood relationship between the two institutions. This agreement aims to provide students and faculty from both sides with enhanced opportunities for international exchange, enriching their academic experiences and contributing to the advancement of the arts. Following the signing ceremony, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on collaboration, exploring specific projects and directions for future cooperation. This included collaborative efforts such as student exchanges, faculty exchanges, residency programs, initiatives, exhibitions, and other forms of partnership. The meeting effectively demonstrated the shared determination of both parties to promote international exchange in the field of arts. There is anticipation for future collaboration, working hand in hand to foster the prosperous development of artistic endeavors at both institutions. To gain a deeper understanding of the artistic atmosphere at NTUA, Prof. Dr István Erős visited the Ju Ming Museum after the meeting, experiencing firsthand the artistic charm of Taiwan. The successful hosting of this exchange event not only brings the HUFA and NTUA closer in collaboration but also contributes to the diversification of global art development, establishing a solid bridge for academic exchange between the two universities.

As a first step, our University and the NTUA will submit a joint application project to the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility programme in February 2024
