The Hidden Faces of the Epreskert – Exclusive Cultural Walk in the Garden of Art with Szilárd Kovács
The Hungarian University of Fine Arts invites you to a truly special occasion: after 140 years, the gates of the Epreskert open to the public!
Discover the fascinating history of this mysterious garden that has long been a home to art. Stroll through the picturesque old-growth park with its neo-Renaissance colonnaded studio houses, encounter the 18th-century Calvary building – restored to its original beauty despite its dark and dramatic past – and explore the very stones of the Church of Our Lady of Buda Castle. Step into a world of legends and larger-than-life stories: from Emperor Franz Joseph to a talking parrot, a ginger woman and a gypsy man riding naked on horseback, and even an escaped lion. The Epreskert holds secrets as extraordinary as its art. All brought to life through the stories of journalist Szilárd Kovács.
The tour takes place rain or shine!
