HUFA Success in the MTA Public Education Development Research Grant Programme

HUFA Success in the MTA Public Education Development Research Grant Programme
Our University has received new research funding through the Hungarian Academy of Sciences’ (MTA) Public Education Development Research Grant Programme. The project was initiated by the Department of Teacher Education, which is also responsible for its academic leadership.
The research is being carried out in partnership with three art universities: the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, the Hungarian Dance University, and the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music.
The newly established MTA–MKE Research Group for the Development of Creative Thinking aims to explore the interrelationships between creative thinking, arts education, and mathematical competence, as well as to examine the effects of targeted interventions carried out in classroom settings.
The researchers hypothesise that, within the public education system, arts programmes incorporating visual arts, dance, and music can be developed that have a direct positive effect on students’ mathematics performance, reduce performance anxiety, and increase learning motivation.
