International Media Arts Exhibition in Indonesia
Open Call for Students
Students of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts are invited to submit their works for consideration for the international media arts exhibition Jalan Menuju Media Kreatif / Pathways to Creative Media (JMMK#18), which will take place from 23 to 29 October 2026 at Pendhapa Art Space in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
Organised for the eighteenth time by the Faculty of Recorded Media Arts (FSMR) at Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta, this year's exhibition explores the theme "Re;Definition, Re;Interpretation, Re;Application of the Art", examining the redefinition, reinterpretation, and new applications of art, with particular emphasis on technological developments, contemporary social issues, and the role of art in society.
The international exhibition provides a platform for photography, film, video art, and animation, bringing together students, lecturers, and artists from higher education institutions specialising in the arts across different countries.
Participation Requirements
The Hungarian University of Fine Arts is invited to participate with photographic and audiovisual works. Each institution may submit one photographic work and one film, video, or animation work. If no audiovisual work is available, two photographic works may be submitted instead.
There are no restrictions on the subject matter of the works. However, submissions that engage with the exhibition's central theme are particularly encouraged.
Participation requires the submission of digital files only. The organisers will arrange and cover the printing costs of the selected photographic works.

Student submissions, together with all supporting documentation specified in the detailed call for entries, should be sent to varga.reka@mke.hu.
The Hungarian University of Fine Arts will select the works to be forwarded to the exhibition organisers in accordance with the submission limits specified in the international call.
Internal submission deadline: 13 October 2026.
