Krizsán Prize

Krizsán Prize
The lineup of awards at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts (MKE) has been enriched by a new artistic accolade: the Krizsán Prize was presented for the very first time this year. Founded by the Krizsán Family Foundation, the prize aims to support graduating students of outstanding talent.
The Krizsán Family Foundation’s mission is to support contemporary Hungarian figurative art and emerging creators. In tandem with the foundation's establishment, a long-term cooperation agreement was signed between the Hungarian University of Fine Arts and the AMADEUS Foundation, dedicated to preserving Hungarian artistic heritage, fostering the professional development of young artists, and strengthening international artistic relations.
One of the most significant outcomes of this collaboration is the creation of the Krizsán Prize. The award can be won annually by one or two graduating students showcasing their work at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts’ Best of Diploma exhibition.
With this prize, the Krizsán Foundation provides a total annual support of 5,000 USD, which winners can utilize for international study trips, professional further training, or artistic research abroad. The initiative aims not only to recognize outstanding artistic achievement but also to enhance the international visibility and professional opportunities of young creators.
The laureates are selected by an independent, three-member professional jury comprising a representative of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, an acclaimed national contemporary art expert, and an international art specialist. During the evaluation process, key considerations include artistic quality, connection to figurative art, the applicants' professional potential, and the feasibility of their proposed international programs.
In 2026, the winners of the Krizsán Prize are: painter JUDIT NÁNDORI and graphic artist DÁNIEL LEBEDA.
The establishment of the Krizsán Prize creates another significant opportunity for the university’s graduating students to further develop their talents in an international environment and expand their professional networks.
Congratulations to the awardees!
