Climate Science Through the Lens of Art
A Lecture by the Department of Visual Arts
How can scientific insights inspire artistic creation and help communicate the urgency of climate change?
This event introduces fine arts students to the 10 Messages from Climate Science for a Liveable Future declaration, with presentations by leading experts on the environmental, social and economic impacts of climate change, as well as the challenges of climate adaptation and emissions reduction.
The aim is to inspire students to translate these scientific messages into their own artistic works. Students will be invited to create artworks reflecting on the ten messages. The resulting artworks may become part of a public awareness campaign and educational activities for young people, bringing climate science to wider audiences through artistic expression.
Speakers: Dr Alexandra Köves (ecological economist), Dr László Pintér (agroecologist), Dr János Zlinszky (biologist and ecologist) and Tibor Schaffhauser and Vera Sipos from the Green Policy Center.
Date: 9 November 2026 | 09:00–12:30
